Hello!

Welcome to First Grade! We are going to have a great year together. This is my fourth year at Sequoia Elementary and my 14th year teaching. I love teaching first grade. The students are so excited to learn and the growth that happens over the course of a school year for a first grader is amazing!

Book Order Information

I periodically send home Scholastic book order flyers with students. The easiest way to place your order is online. Simply follow these instructions:

*Go online to: scholastic.com/newparent

*Enter our class code: Q9Q6J

Note that you can actually order from any level on the Scholastic website, not just first grade books. You can also place an order at any time, but I may not process it right away. I usually only process orders after I've sent out flyers with a due date.

Weekly Update

A Note From the Teacher

10/20/19

We had so much fun at the Boosterthon fun run on Friday. The kids all did great. This coming Friday, Oct. 25 we will have a special day to celebrate all their hard work and participation in the Boosterthon. More details to follow....I'd like to get the students' input before I make the final plans.

Looking forward, THIS week is Red Ribbon Week. Please see the chart below for details on what we will be doing at Sequoia to learn about making healthy choices as well as any special clothing to wear each day.

Next week will be the week we celebrate Halloween. I believe our room parents have been in touch with details on the party they have in the works. It will be a great time!

Please check the calendar for homework and have a great week!
